GT/TW-Treatment For Film Opening

'Hysteria'

Darren's hands are cold. The stitching on his gloves providing nothing in terms of defence against the cold winter winds. Darren is lost. Not surprising, for he knew isolation would prove to be one of the many consequences of hiking on the road with no known dwelling to retreat to, and if one isn't found soon then the freezing temperatures will have their toll on him.
As Darren ventured further into the brush, the hollowness of his surroundings becomes clear when he can hear the echoes of his footfalls for miles in every direction. It was disorientating. It was as though the trees are talking to him, mocking him at every step. As quickly as his drained body allowed, he attempts to run. To escape the nightmare in which fate had dropped him in to. As Darren runs further and further away from what was, in reality, nothing but his subconscious, his straggling legs catch on a hidden root, as if one of his ridiculers had stuck out a foot causing him to fall, clumping his head in the process. Darren lies there, semiconscious for what seems like an eternity. As he glances up, a white object is peaking at him through the trees and bushes. It's a caravan; overgrown and probably inhabited by some creature, stuck in the same nightmare as Darren. But Darren's willingness suppresses the part of him that wants to throw in the towel. He stumbles to his feet; enticed by the promise of shelter and warmth, rekindling feelings once forgotten.
It takes Darren three attempts to bust through the now shattered door to the caravan. A stench immediately overpowers Darren and he drops to his knees; retching the last ounce of bile that lined his now empty stomach. As Darren's eyes stop watering, he urges on through the caravan, observing objects; each and every one concealing a disturbing past. This violent history plays through Darren's mind upon touching the various objects littered through the ancient caravan, mugs, sheets, beds; every single one of them witness to murder. Suddenly Darren is blinded. A black cloth enveloping him into submission. Everything goes black. Darren's blood seeps through the cracks in the floor boards; the last we see of him.
