Purpose:
- To improve collaboration and team co-operation
- To be fully aware of the potential limitations of a certain location
- To identify the suitability of shooting
- To discover the certain risks/hazards of a location
We are also required to carry out a Risk Assessment, assessing the dangers and potential difficulties of shooting at the location and minimizing the risks.
Main potential risks of shooting in a woods:
- Risk of slipping/falling (Prevented by being cautious and aware of the hazards)
- Getting lost. (Prevented by using a map throughout the trip and staying with the other group members at all times)
- Risk of tripping over low branches (Prevented by being aware of where you are walking)
- Wet floor from previous rain (If this is the case, we will need to be even more careful when filming to prevent a team member from slipping)
Planning- As a group we are using this task to familiarize
ourselves with the shots that we are likely to use during the final clip. Also,
the woods is a rather eerie setting which is conventional of horror, therefore,
it gives us an idea of what our clip would look like if it was set in this
location. If nothing else, it would potentially rule out the possibility of
shooting in the woods as we may find it difficult to film it in this particular
setting.
